LAYTON — The Davis Chamber of Commerce is hoping you will come hungry to its 19th annual Taste of the Town event this Saturday, July 23, in Layton Commons Park, 437 N. Wasatch Drive.

The event will showcase some of the best eats and treats Davis County has to offer and customers will have a chance to try a wide variety, said Morgan Sutherland, director of sales and events for the sponsoring Davis Chamber of Commerce.

Admission to the event is free, but tickets to sample the foods or take part in various activities are $1; each item requires a different number of tickets. Chick-fil-A, for example, will offer a sandwich, drink and a cookie for four tickets, or $4.

“It’s an event to highlight local restaurants so we want people to try a wide variety,” Sutherland said.

There will not be any vendor booths selling any other items besides food, Sutherland said, because the focus is on the dining. But there will be entertainment options offered with businesses like SeaQuest, an aquarium that will be opening soon in Layton, or face painting, Disney princesses and Dartside of Layton.

Dartside and SeaQuest Interactive Aquarium will offer experiences for patrons for tickets. Sutherland said, “That part is primarily for the kids.”
