New frozen yogurt shop opening in downtown Ogden

OGDEN — A new frozen yogurt shop is slated to open soon on 24th Street in Ogden

Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt will take over a section of the Berthana Building, located at 329 E. 24th St. near Union Grill. The self-serve frozen yogurt chain is based out of California and offers dozens of yogurt flavors and toppings.

The new franchise’s owner, Rory Rich, said he hopes to open by the end of March or early April, but a firm opening date hasn’t been set. He said they’re still doing construction at the site.

The new location is now accepting applications for full- and part-time positions and is also hosting a hiring event from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 11, at the Hampton Inn, 2401 Washington Blvd. Those interested in attending the event should bring a resume.

In addition to the new location, Menchie’s has stores in Layton, Centerville, West Valley City, Salt Lake City, South Jordan and Draper.

As of Thursday afternoon, the Standard-Examiner was unable to confirm what business most recently operated out of the new yogurt shop’s location.
