Where to get a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner in Northern Utah

If you’re looking to share a romantic dinner with someone special in your life, look no further. Here are six restaurants around Northern Utah offering unique menus for Valentine’s Day.

Reservations are strongly encouraged to ensure space, so reserve your spot soon.

• Cactus Reds Southwest Grill

This special three-course meal for two is available for all of February.

Soup or house salad.

Entrees: Steak and shrimp, roasted prime rib, smoked baby back ribs or barbecue chicken all come with seasonal vegetables, your choice of side dish and bread.

Dessert to share: New York cheesecake topped with strawberry topping and whipped cream.

Cost: $39.99.

Location: 2250 S. 1200 West, Ogden; 801-621-1560. 

• The Garden at Hilton Garden Inn

This special dinner is for Feb. 14 only. Reservations are required and available only until filled.

Starters: Braised tender short ribs, smoked pork belly, raspberry chocolate demi-glace and chipotle cranberry gelée.

Salad: Floral melange, crisp frisée, mixed greens, shaved cucumber, micro flowers, tomato spears, chives, floral pearls and elderflower vinaigrette.

Entrees: Surf and turf, New York strip, bacon wrapped lobster tail with charred brussels sprouts, herb potato croquette, port wine demi-glace.

Dessert: Romance by Chocolate, including crisp chocolate cup with rich chocolate mousse, chocolate sponge, raspberry chili meringue, chocolate caviar and chocolate cherry.

Cost: Four courses, $60 per person or $100 per couple.

• Hearth on 25th

Reservations are required and seating will be from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14. Credit card information is required to confirm all reservations and a $20 fee will be charged for those who do not follow through with reservations.

Amuse bouche: Local yak en croute, house-made mozzarella, marinara and chive.

Appetizer: Rabbit rillettes, lemon condiment, beer mustard, crostini and apple gastrique or orange bitter spiced sweet potato cake, creme fraiche and cranberry ginger puree.

Soup or salad: Citrus salad, shaved fennel, watercress and cilantro yogurt dressing or lobster bisque.

Intermezzo: Strawberry angostura sorbet.

Entree choices: Halibut pan-seared fillet, cauliflower and cumin fritters, lime yogurt and cilantro pico; steak au poivre — pan seared and oven roasted New York steak — peppercorn pan sauce, wilted spinach, garlic and truffle fries; duck pasta — pan-seared duck breast — slow dried rigatoni, fontina cheese sauce, wild mushrooms, toasted hazelnut and chocolate gastrique, or lamb agrodolce — pan seared and wood oven roasted chop — agrodolce, roasted heirloom baby carrots and daikon radish potato puree.

Dessert for two: Chocolate tart with sweet berry sauce or vanilla bean cheesecake with sweet berry sauce.

Cost: Six-course tasting menu, $65 per person. Beverage pairing, $25.

• Restaurant 1107

A special Valentine’s Day menu will include either a 4-ounce or 8-ounce pistachio crust halibut or a blackened rib-eye steak.

Cost: $12-$30.

• Rovoli’s Ristorante Italiano

A Valentine’s Day special menu runs Feb. 14-16.

Featured entree: Braised Beef Roast with Mushrooms, Potatoes, Carrots and Broccoli, $17.99.

Featured desserts: Cookie dough cake, eclair pie, whiskey cherry tiramisu, strawberry coconut cake, Oreo cheesecake, black forest cheesecake and cookie dough cheesecake.

• Twig’s Bistro and Martini Bar

A special menu runs from now until Feb. 18 while supplies last. The restaurant also accepts walk-ins, who may have to get on a wait list.

Appetizer: Cucumber twist, a light blend of lemon dill cream cheese, tomatoes, thin-sliced prosciutto ham and feta cheese wrapped in thin-sliced cucumber and topped with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, $10.99.

Entrees: Curry scallops: creamy coconut green curry broth, jasmine rice and seasonal vegetables served alongside seared jumbo sea scallops topped with a nest of green onion curls, $27.99.

Ribeye a la Plancha: a 16-ounce, hand-cut ribeye steak cooked on a plancha grill topped with garlic butter and truffle oil, served with chive mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables, $35.99.

Dessert: Peanut butter banana parfait, ladyfinger cookies, peanut butter mousse, banana whipped cream, peanuts and dark chocolate crumbles layered together and served with two spoons, $6.99.

Drink Features: True Love Martini: Malibu coconut rum, peach schnapps and cranberry juice shaken and served up, topped with slices of heart-shaped strawberries, $9.

Romeo and Juliet: Patron Silver, Grand Marnier, raspberry liquor and peach juice shaken and served up with a Bordeaux cherry and an orange twist, $11.
